It’s such a pity. But here are the steps to follow:
- Report the damage to the driver. Take photos, both of the damage caused to your suitcase and of the bus and its luggage compartment, preferably, with the damaged suitcase in it.
- Prepare a damage report, even if it is hand-written on a piece of paper. Make sure a bus driver signs the report.
- Once at home, submit a written complaint to the company you were travelling with. Hold them liable for the damage. A reasonable period, within which the company must respond to your complaint, is between two and four weeks.
